It is our number one priority to make sure that every single dancer, volunteer, band member, and attendee feels safe and comfortable at Sunflower Swing. If you have any concerns, no matter how small, please let us know.
These are your Safe Spaces contacts
Talk with these people in regard to any safe spaces concerns you may have.
Safe Spaces policy
Everyone in attendance will be accountable for adhering to this policy
Safe Space Rules
Dance in a manner such that the person with whom you are dancing is comfortable. The “right” way to dance is in a way such that both partners are comfortable, regardless of what else is taught or the different ways that people are used to dancing.
Be respectful to all people. Do not use misogynist, misandrist, homophobic, transphobic, ableist, racist, or other prejudiced language.
Do not harass anyone. Harassment includes offensive verbal comments, sexual images in public spaces, deliberate intimidation, stalking, following, photography or recording against the subject's wishes, sustained disruption of classes, inappropriate physical contact, and unwelcome sexual attention.
Do not make any unwanted physical or sexual advances. No exceptions, no excuses!
The Sunflower team will respond to Safe Spaces violations with any of the following: verbal warnings, expulsion from the event, contacting of local law enforcement, and/or other actions at Event Coordinator's discretion. Please take a moment to review the rules listed above before attending Sunflower Swing in order to ensure understanding and prevent unfortunate events.
